UNCOMMITTED: opening on June 14 in Brooklyn, New York
UPDATE:
after much thought, for artistic and political reasons, and due to profound disrespect to my work, I decided to not participate in this exhibion anymore (as of 6/14/2024).
Play-Land will soon be soon at another venue - stay tuned!
The works touches on important issues of social responsibility for voters in the U.S.
I believe it is deeply important to show it and present the ideas within. At this time however, it was not possible to complete the ideas - and this is very telling of our times.
Please follow this post or my social media posts for updates.
In solidarity,
Natalia de Campos/ Syncretic Pleasures

Stand4 Gallery’s upcoming exhibition Uncommitted focuses on civic literacy, engagement, and social matters which affect and reflect the daily lives of Bay Ridge community members. This local lens overlaps with national issues surrounding the 2024 presidential election. In particular, this artist cohort examines concerns related to health care, migration, conflict, tensions between state and federal voting rights, surveillance, the role of technology, and advocacy.
Additional special community events will include multiple voting drives, a civic literacy workshop, zine workshops, and several performances aiming to bolster dialogue and individuals’ investment in the upcoming election.
